Natural Face Lift Massage

Over the years, your connective tissues are weakened, causing your skin to slip away from the muscles. Gravity keeps pulling muscles, skin, and tissues downwards. Your face is sagging more and more, looking less and less plump. Progressively, your skin loses its elasticity, and your face its youthful contour.

Your metabolism does not produce enough collagen and elastin anymore. The results are wrinkles everywhere: under eyes fine lines, eye wrinkles, forehead wrinkles, mouth wrinkles and fine lines. The combination of poor collagen and gravity generates the worst wrinkles: the deepening vertical crease between the brows and the two folds that run from each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth.

Natural Face Lift Massage:

Natural Facelift Massage is also known as Facial Rejuvenation, Facial Lift Massage and Natural Lift Facial Massage.  Its origins are associated with Eastern techniques which have been around for centuries and have been developed with Western practices into the treatment I offer in Forest Row, East Sussex. (near East Grinstead)

Natural Facelift Massage is a popular alternative to facelift surgery or other invasive procedures such as botox.  This wonderfully relaxing treatment  balances the client holistically through facial massage. The massage techniques can improve the complexion by stimulating skin rejuvenation and boosting cellular activity, aiding the removal of toxins and improving the flow of lymph. It reduces muscle tension and helps to reduce expression lines and wrinkles as well as toning and tightening the skin and the underlying muscles.

The Natural Facelift Massage routine begins with a shoulder and neck massage followed by the facelift massage and ends with a scalp massage.

Exercise after plastic surgery 2

Facial Surgery
Eyelid surgery usually allows the patient to get around independently by the second or third day. The patient can usually return to work in about a week, but exercise is not recommended for at least two weeks, in order to keep sweat from interfering with tear ducts or stitching. Also, swelling around the eye might make it a bad idea to try exercising if the line of vision is compromised.

With a facelift, a person can usually get around without help by the second day, but probably won't feel comfortable going out in public for at least a week. The patient can usually return to work by two weeks after surgery, but exercise is not recommended for two weeks, and even then, it should be kept light. A person can return to a regular exercise routine 4-6 weeks after the procedure, as long as he or she is recovering at a normal rate.

Rhinoplasty
People who decided to undergo the rhinoplasty surgery should be very careful during the recovery time. They can start exercising only in a few weeks. It is indescribable dangerous to start doing exercises beforehand. After the rhinoplasty surgery the blood-vessels are very sensitive in the nose area. If you start to do exercises beforehand the vessels will not stand and the nose will start to bleed, what can harm the final results. During the activities the access of oxygen is more active. It influences the healing process. The smallest bruise while exercising can damage the shape of the nose, if it will happen, the new operation will be needed! Keep this in mind! Let your nose to heal properly.

Tummy Tuck
It is a good idea to exercise after surgery, but only after enough healing time has passed. Your surgeon will give you specific instructions on when you can exercise after your tummy tuck and what type of exercises are appropriate. As a general guideline, tummy tuck patients can start light to moderate activity after four weeks. After six to eight weeks, most people can resume all exercise and activity.

Buttock Augmentation
Most patients can resume normal activities within two weeks after buttock implant placement, or within one week after fat grafting. After this time you can start gentle walking but must refrain from jogging or doing heavy physical activity or exercising until six weeks after surgery. You can do upper body exercising after two weeks. Most patients return to work within a week after fat grafting and after two weeks from buttock implant placement.

Eyelid Surgery

Description
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty or eye lift) is a popular cosmetic plastic surgery to remove excess skin, fat or muscle from droppy upper and lower eyelids. Blepharoplasty improves baggy skin under the eyes, sinking upper eyelids or drooping eyelashes that impair vision. The surgery can also treat a medical condition called ptosis (drooping eyelid), which is caused by poor muscle tone or nerve damage. Ptosis causes the eyelids to hang very low and block vision.

Blepharoplasty treats drooping eyelids, but not drooping eyebrows or wrinkles. Blepharoplasty is often performed with another cosmetic surgery such as a brow lift or facelift to improve droopy eyebrows, crow's feet and facial sagging.

Another type of blepharoplasty known as Asian eyelid surgery is gaining in popularity worldwide. This procedure, performed on Asians with a "single eyelid," creates a crease where none exists.

Why Eyelid Surgery?
As we age, excess skin forms in the eye area, and the skin loses elasticity. Fatty tissue can accumulate under the skin. Your eyes will "look older" because these aging processes leave the eyes appearing tired, wrinkled or puffy. Even with good skincare and eyecare, wrinkles, puffiness and drooping eyelids will catch up to you. Genetic factors and body chemistry can cause these aging effects in younger people. Plastic surgery may restore a youthful and refreshed appearance to your eyes.

Is Eyelid Surgery Right for Me?
The best candidates for blepharoplasty are physically healthy, emotionally stable and well-informed about the procedure. Ideal candidates are typically at least 35, though genetic factors may indicate treatment for younger people. Candidates may be excluded if they have any of the following conditions: dry eyes, high blood pressure, hypothyroidism, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, glaucoma, or Graves' disease. Your anatomy, including bone and supporting structure, may also affect your candidacy.

The Blepharoplasty Procedure
Your surgeon will make incisions along the line creases of the upper eyelid and possibly along the outer lower rim of the eye's skin. When removing fatty tissue, but not skin, the surgeon may perform a transconjunctival blepharoplasty with an incision inside the lower rim of the eye's skin. These incisions often reach the outer corners of the eyes. The surgeon then divides the fatty tissue and muscle from the skin so that excess skin, fat or muscle can be removed.

Eyelid surgery is often performed under local anesthesia — while you are sedated, numbed and awake — in an outpatient surgery center, surgeon's office or hospital. General anesthesia (meaning, while you are asleep) may be used. Be sure to discuss the appropriate type of anesthesia with your doctor and the anesthesia provider.

Depending on the extent of the procedure, time in surgery may be up to three hours. Patients return home typically within hours of the surgery.

Side Effects
Temporary tightness of eyelids, swelling, bruising, burning, and itching. Excessive tearing and sensitivity to light for first few weeks.

Risks
Temporary blurred or double vision. Infection, bleeding. Swelling at the corners of the eyelids. Dry eyes. Formation of whiteheads. Slight asymmetry in healing or scarring. Difficulty in closing eyes completely (rarely permanent). Pulling down of the lower lids (may require further surgery).

After Eyelid Surgery
Your eyes will likely be lubricated and covered with bandages after surgery. Oral medications will help with pain and discomfort. Report any unmanageable pain to your doctor immediately. The doctor will also prescribe an antibiotic to prevent infection.

You will receive a list of instructions to follow for several days, including:
- the proper way to clean your eyes
- use of cold compresses
- use of lubricating eye drops
- head elevation
- no makeup
- no alcohol
- no television
- no contact lenses

Stitches are removed about a week after surgery. Bruising and swelling will continue to decrease after stitches are removed. Sunglasses and protective sun block are required for several weeks. Normal activities can resume after about 10 days, though strenuous activities such as lifting, bending and exercise can resume after about three weeks.

Thermage: Skin tightening and contouring

As cosmetic surgery techniques and procedures continue to develop, areas of the body once believed to be difficult to treat can now be enhanced during a lunch break or an early afternoon escape from the office. For example, the revolutionary procedure known as Thermage, (also known as Radiothermoplasty, ThermaCool, and ThermaLift) provides patients with tighter, more youthful looking skin, all without face lift surgery. The Thermage application has been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of wrinkles, furrows, creases, and so on, around the eyes.

With the increasing popularity of various cosmetic surgery procedures, including Thermage, it is important that the prospective patient researches and understands different issues like what the procedure can and cannot treat, inherent risks, costs, and other factors. Keep in mind, cosmetic surgery is just that – a surgical procedure whose results cannot simply be erased. While the information contained in this website will provide a good introduction to Thermage, when considering this or any other cosmetic procedure, we recommend that you consult a qualified provider with significant experience. Some important elements you should understand regarding this procedure include the following:

The Thermage Procedure
Thermage is typically performed in a doctor's office and may take up to an hour, depending on the size and condition of the treatment area. Thermage delivers radio frequency energy to heat collagen, a structural protein located in the deep layers of the skin. Thermage helps build and contract collagen, which in turn tightens the appearance of the skin's surface. During each pulse, the outer layer of the skin is cooled while the deeper layers of skin and fat are heated to induce collagen tightening.

Each energy pulse takes two to seven seconds. The entire face may require 400 to 600 pulses, and the stomach area may require 400 pulses. The amount of pulses for other treatment areas varies.

Thermage Results
Thermage results may be apparent after just one procedure. In fact, some women who have undergone body contouring around their love handles with Thermage have lost 1.5 inches of girth around their abdomen after one treatment.

The skin tightens during the initial process and continues to tighten for three to six months afterward. The procedure also stimulates your body's healing process, which produces more natural collagen over time.

The experience is often described as a deep heating or mild pinching sensation, but a new vibrating hand piece has led to significantly less discomfort.

Still, oral pain medication and a topical anesthetic ointment may be administered before treatment.

Best Candidates for Thermage
Thermage may work best for people who require 1 to 2 millimeters of facial tightening, compared with the 1 or more centimeters offered in a brow lift.

Body contouring candidates include those who have lax skin in the lower abdomen, such as women who have had children. Women with flabby upper arms, inner thighs and buttocks are also candidates for Thermage.

Side Effects
Thermage side effects are rare, but can include swelling, redness, blisters, peeling, bumps or dimpling. If a side effect occurs, it usually goes away within a few days to a few weeks.

Cost
Thermage cost ranges between $1,000 and $5,000 per treatment

Rhinoplasty

What is Rhinoplasty (Nose Job)?
Rhinoplasty is a type of cosmetic surgery that is performed in order to reshape the nose. Although rhinoplasty is most often sought for cosmetic reasons, it can also help correct structural defects that may cause breathing problems.

Rhinoplasty Overview
Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure which is usually performed in order to improve the function or the appearance of a person's nose. Rhinoplasty can reduce or increase the size of person's nose as well as modify its shape.

The word rhinoplasty comes from the Greek word "rhinos" that means "nose" and the word "Plassein" which means "to shape". A rhinoplasty is also commonly referred as a "nose job" or "nose reshaping".

Rhinoplasty can change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between your nose and your upper lip. Rhinoplasty may also correct an aesthetically unpleasing nose, birth defects, injury caused by an accident, or some breathing problems.

Not all rhinoplasty is performed for cosmetic reasons; rhinoplasty can correct structural abnormalities. One of the most common conditions that can be corrected with rhinoplasty is a deviated septum, which can lead to breathing problems, chronic stuffiness, post-nasal drip and even snoring.

Rhinoplasty can be performed to meet aesthetic goals (cosmetic surgery) or for reconstructive purposes to correct trauma, birth defects or breathing problems (reconstructive surgery). Rhinoplasty can be combined with other surgical procedures such to enhance the aesthetic results that the patient can obtain.

Rhinoplasty is one of the most common types of plastic surgery procedures and the most common type of facial plastic surgery today.

Rhinoplasty Candidates
Nose reshaping candidates should be at least in their mid teens — 14 to 15 for girls, and slightly older for boys. At these ages, the nasal bone has matured and the shape of the nose has stabilized. All rhinoplasty patients should have realistic expectations for their surgery. It is helpful for the surgeon to know, prior to surgery, what the patient hopes to look like after rhinoplasty, but it is important that those expectations be aligned with what is surgically possible. Before the rhinoplasty surgery, you'll have a chance to discuss your personal goals in detail with your rhinoplasty surgeon.

Risks and Benefits of Nose Surgery
Rhinoplasty carries the same risks as any other surgery. Bleeding, infection, and reactions to medications or anesthesia are possible side effects of rhinoplasty surgery. In addition, there are several risks that are unique to plastic surgery of the nose. These include burst blood vessels that can lead to red spots and small scars on the underside of the nose. You might also require a revisionary second procedure at some point in the future to remove or correct tissue. Explore this site to learn more about the risks and benefits of rhinoplasty surgery.

Closed Rhinoplasty
One of the most common rhinoplasty techniques is called "closed rhinoplasty." In a closed rhinoplasty, all of the incisions used for the surgery are hidden inside the nostrils. This, of course, if a benefit because it means that the scars will be entirely invisible to the casual observer. Although this surgery does not offer quite as much freedom to the rhinoplasty surgeon as an open rhinoplasty, it still offers a number of possibilities. For some patients, this surgery provides them with everything that they need. Even with all of the incisions made within the nostrils, the surgeon can still remove or implant cartilage and bone to reduce or increase the size of the nose.

Open Rhinoplasty
The open rhinoplasty technique is a procedure that has more incisions then the closed technique and the incisions are external where as the closed incisions are internal. In the open technique the rhinoplasty surgeon cuts the columella which separates the nostrils and that is where the tissues are located. Rhinoplasty surgeons use this technique more because it is easier to visualize how the nose will become. Also, more patients have open rhinoplasty technique performed on them when they have previously had rhinoplasty surgery.

Differences Between Open & Closed Rhinoplasty
Although the closed rhinoplasty technique sounds better due to no visible scarring, this technique is limited to those who can have this surgery and qualify as good candidates. This rhinoplasty technique works better for patients that are looking for minor changes. This would be good for those that need to remove the small bumps on the bridges of their nose. If there is more work to be done on the nose, patients are most likely getting an open rhinoplasty.

The open rhinoplasty technique is better for those that need more work done on their nose. However, there is more scarring and there is a scar that is on the columella which is more noticeable. However, taking care of the scar properly it will lighten up and look barely noticeable.

Lip Augmentation Implants And Surgeries

Lip augmentation creates fuller, plumper lips and reduces fine wrinkles around the mouth. Lips may be injected with collagen or with fat transferred from another site in the patient's body. Both liquid collagen and fat are absorbed and repeat treatments are necessary to maintain results. Newer, longer-lasting options include implantable materials like AlloDerm and SoftForm.

Lip Augmentation surgery
It usually takes about 30 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes, depending upon the technique and the skill of the surgeon. Your surgery may take longer if other procedures are being performed in conjunction with your lip augmentation, such as a lip lift or non-lip procedures.

Implants And Surgeries
You will most likely receive local anesthesia. A procedure can take up to two hours at your doctor's office or outpatient center, depending on the complexity, and you will be sent home the same day.

Here are the options:

Alloderm is a sheet of collagen created from deceased humans. Your surgeon inserts them through tiny incisions made on the inside part of the lip. This material offers only a temporary fix, lasting up to 12 months.

Fat grafting is the surgical method of inserting your own fat into your lips to achieve the desired fullness. You may achiever permanent results, but this method varies from person to person. Because it's your own fat, there is a chance that your body can reabsorb it.

Gore-Tex, SoftForm and soft ePTFE are synthetic materials that can achieve a permanent result. Unlike some of the other options we've listed above, your body will not absorb these. However, because they are synthetic, there is a risk of allergic reaction.

Local flap grafts is a surgical procedure that takes tissue and skin from the inside flap of your mouth. It's far more invasive than any other technique, and is often the last resort among plastic surgeons.
Your surgeon may also be able to make an incision along the upper line of your lip.

How Long Will My Recovery Take?
Your recovery will depend on your lifestyle and which procedure you undergo. If you are having injections, your recovery can take just a couple days. However, any swelling or bruising can last longer.

If you are having surgical implants or grafts, your recovery can take up to two weeks after the surgery.

It's important that you know yourself. Discuss how much time you think you'll need for recovery with your doctor. It may be necessary to take some time off work. You will need at least three days off from work, at minimum. If you are physically active, you will not be able to exercise for a few days after injections and perhaps for a few weeks after surgical implants.

What Are the Risks and Complications of Lip Augmentation?
As with any surgery, there are risks and complications. You can have allergic reactions to implants as we've described above or allergic reaction to anesthesia.

You can experience bleeding or an implant that hardens, which may require removal. You also risk infection or perhaps even nerve damage in some cases. It's very important that you discuss any concerns with your doctor prior to surgery and that you make your doctor aware of any existing medical conditions which may cause further complications.

Lip Augmentation Injections

Introduction to Lip Augmentation
So you want to improve the appearance of your lips? You've got your reasons. Plumping your pucker often improves self-confidence and sexual confidence.

The good news is that you have many options to improve the appearance of your lips. The methods we discuss here also reduce fine lines and wrinkles around your lips. It's important to be realistic, too. Injections or implants can enhance and improve your natural look, but they're not about performing miracles.

Who Are the Best Candidates for Lip Augmentation?
You must be in good general health overall. You are not a good candidate for lip augmentation if you have:

Current cold sores
Certain diseases such as diabetes or lupus
Any scarring of the lips
Blood clotting problems

Like any other cosmetic surgery, lip augmentation requires a lot of responsibility. You can only determine for yourself if you're ready. We've included the most popular injections and implants here. This information should serve as a general overview only and should not replace your doctor's advice. Once you've selected a doctor, you will communicate with him or her and decide together which option best suits your needs.

As with any medical procedure, you should tell your doctor of any allergies or any medications that you are taking and you will be required to discuss your medical history. Certain diseases can increase your chances of complications, such as blood clots, diabetes or poor circulation. If you are a smoker, this may also be a complicating factor.

Injections
Your surgeon will most likely use topical anesthesia (painkiller applied directly to the lips) for injections. These are performed on an outpatient basis in your doctor's office or an outpatient center and you will be sent home the same day.

Here are the options:

Artecoll is a synthetic material that plumps up the lips. Because it's synthetic, you are at higher risk of having an allergic reaction to it than if you got an injection of collagen or fat, but it lasts longer than either.

Autologen is an injection of your own collagen, extracted from another place on your body. There's no risk of allergic reaction, however, the results are only temporary. This may be good for people who aren't ready to commit to a permanent result.

Collagen can be extracted from cows and injected into the lips. There's a risk of allergic reaction, so it's best to have your surgeon give you a test dose before proceeding to the full dose. The results are temporary lasting 4 weeks to three months.

Dermalogen is collagen extracted from deceased human donors. It's also called injectable Human Tissue Matrix. This is also a temporary fix, but your body should not reject it.

Fascia injections use a specific type of connective tissue harvested either from your own body or from a deceased human donor. It can be implanted surgically or injected. The main drawback is that within a year of injection, your body will reabsorb the fascia.

Fat from your own thighs or abdomen can be injected into your lips. There's no risk of allergic reaction and you may achieve permanent results. This can also be implanted surgically (see below).

HylaForm is a material created from natural body substances. There's no risk of infection, but you will need repeated treatments to maintain the result as it's only a temporary fic.

Restylane is a clear gel. It contains hyaluronic acid, which naturally occurs in humans, so there's little chance for an allergic reaction. It's biodegradable, so your body will absorb it within about six months of the injection.

Face Lift

Procedure Description
Face lift improves sagging facial skin, a slack jaw, and loose neck skin by removing excess fat, tightening muscles, and redraping skin. Most patients who desire a facelift are men and women over 40 years old, seeking to remove the most visible signs of aging. A facelift is complex surgery that goes beyond just tightening skin in order to rejuvenation the patient's appearance.

Face Lift is a procedure where a person's face skin is tightened to give a younger looking appearance. Because of aging and gravity the skin on a person's face can tend to sag and feel droopy. It is in this moment when a face lift surgery becomes a great option to look younger. In the face lift surgery the surgeon makes an incision on a person's forehead and/or neck mainly. These incisions are regularly placed in areas where they will not be visible so that the patient has a natural appearance.

Fat and tissue contribute as much to facial appearance as the underlying muscle and the overlying skin. A truly complete and comprehensive face lift with the most natural outcome will reduce, redistribute and in some cases add fat to the face.

Recently, face lift has moved away from using skin tension to contour the face. As a face ages the changes include fat loosening and descending to sit lower in the face. The result is that the face looks longer and more square in shape. Young faces tend to be tapered or angular. Thus, the most important aspect of a facelift is to improve facial shape while limiting signs that a surgical procedure has been performed.

To best determine what is right for you, consult a plastic surgeon who is not only qualified and experienced in these procedures, but one who also has an artistic vision. The difference between a good and great face lift is the difference between a plastic surgeon who can simply restore youth versus one who can visualize and create youthful beauty. This means a plastic surgeon must look at each feature individually as well as at the face as a whole. Then he or she can define what to correct, how much to correct and how it will all work together to make you look 10 or more years younger, without appearing like you've had face lift surgery.

Side Effects
Temporary bruising, swelling, numbness and tenderness of skin. Tight feeling and dry skin. Men will permanently have to shave behind ears, due to the repositioning of beard-growing skin.

Technology
The incisions begin above the hairline at the temples, extending in a natural line in front of the ear, and continues behind the earlobe to the lower scalp. The surgeon separates the skin from the fat and muscle below, trimming or suctioning fat from around the neck to improve the contour. He or she then tightens the underlying muscle and membrane, pulling the skin back, and then removes the excess.

Risks
Infection, bleeding. Poor healing and excessive scarring. Asymmetry or change in hairline. Injury to facial nerves (usually temporary but may be permanent).
